Lou was a friend of mine for many years. She even lived at our house for a while when George was ill on Staten Island. I was just sitting here, teary-eyed, while thinking of her and remembering our times together. At that very moment, I came upon your message. Thank you for posting this. She was the sweetest soul and I just loved her.

Black Ties Well, there you go. She is still spreading her love around. I was just talking with her daughter-in-law and told her that I had just been thinking about her a short while before I found out that she had passed... almost as if she paid me a little visit to say hello. She said that maybe Lou is making her rounds in our hearts.

Here's a little something that most people don't know. She had just become a great-grandmother two days before her passing. The family believes she waited for the baby to be born before she left us.

I saw Louise at Count Basie when she was speaking about The Beatles performing on the Ed Sullivan Show. George wasn't feeling well that night.

Mary Smith, that's beautiful. We should all aspire to leave such a loving legacy with so many people thinking of us fondly. Timing is everything.
